The 2010 Election will have a dramatic impact on Texans.  At this meeting, the Tea Party will provide an update to its Get Out the Vote project, as well as discuss the impact this election will have on Texas.  Greg Holloway of the Austin Tea Party will serve as guest speaker.

“With less than two months until the November election, Tea Party volunteers have been busy asking 10,000 county voters to commit to vote.” states Leslie Haight of the Fredericksburg Tea Party.  “The response has been overwhelming, as we expect record breaking voter turn out.”  New volunteers are welcome to join the effort.

Greg Holloway, a director of the Austin Tea Party, will present a Texas legislative update.  “While the attention seems to be on the national races, the make-up of the new Texas Legislature may have an even greater impact on Texans’ lives,” states Mr. Holloway.  “The 2011 Texas Legislature, elected this November, will determine Texas’ response to healthcare, immigration and redistricting. This is probably one of the most critical elections we have had in Texas, and voters should be aware of what’s at stake.”

The Fredericksburg Tea Party is non-partisan and does not endorse any political party or candidate. Our mission is to educate voters and to encourage the return of the government to the ideals of the Founders as defined in the Constitution. We welcome all like-minded individuals regardless of their party affiliation.

You likely won’t see this story in detail on how the new stimulus money will hurt Texas . One would need to be involved in the legislative process and know our Texas Constitution to understand how this bill, supposedly to save teacher jobs,  is an attempt to take control of local education and local budgeting.

This administration is not only busting the federal budget and bankrupting America, they now want to tell us how to spend our money in Texas . The president and the dems will smile before the cameras and tell America how they are saving teaching and firefighting jobs, but they will not tell America that this is part of a plan to control state budgets from Washington and control education.

What disturbs me the most is how sneaky it is. They know exactly what they are doing. They have trashed the U.S Constitution. Now they are now trying to trash the Texas Constitution. And they know that hardly anyone will know what is going on because the media will not fully understand what is happening below the surface and most people will not ready deeply below the headline. But I am alerting you and you will now know and can pass it on to others.

HERE IS THE DEAL: New stimulus money intended to protect primarily teacher jobs would send 800 million to Texas to go to classrooms. However, Texas Democrat Congressman Lloyd Doggett inserted language that says Texas would not get the money unless the governor guarantees to continue funding after the fed money runs out.

First, this is unconstituional. The governor of Texas does not write the budget and cannot guarantee expenditures now, or in the future. The legislature also cannot guarantee spending beyond the 2-year budget cycle we pass each session. You can plan to spend money beyond two years, but you cannot guarantee it. The money has to be appropriated every 2 years when we meet to write the budget. It is not possible, practical, or allowed by the Constitution, to guarantee monies beyond the budget cycle, Texas House and Senate Democrats understand this, but apparently Texas Democrat Congressmen do not.

Lastly, it is outragious that the Obama adminsitration is interfering with your tax dollars, your education system and your state budget. Anyone who has any doubt that this administration wants total federal control only need to understand this issue. Looks like another lawsuit and l once again appears this administration wants to punish Texas . Problem is they were in such a rush to do so they did not even read or understand the Texas Constitution. The governor couldn’t do it if he wanted to do it; it’s not in his authority and it’s unconstitutional.

Please send this out to all of your e-mail lists so people know what a Texas congressman working with Pelosi and Obama is doing to his own state.

The 9^th Circus Court (US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit) in San Francisco recently ruled that the Stolen Valor Act is Unconstitutional. This must be appealed immediately.

The Stolen Valor Act of 2005, signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 20, 2006, is a U.S. law that broadens the provisions of previous U.S. law addressing the unauthorized wear, manufacture, sale or claim (either written or oral) of any military decorations and medals. It is a federal misdemeanor offense, which carries a punishment of imprisonment for no more than 1 year and/or a fine; the scope previously covered only the Medal of Honor.

The 9th Circus Court claimed that it’s okay to lie about one’s military service because lying is a right protected by the First Amendment. After all, “it doesn’t really hurt anyone.”

So, how far could one take this freedom to lie? Is it now ok to impersonate a police officer? What about shouting “fire” in a crowded theater? What about calling in a fake bomb threat? Take this logic further and perjury would be protected by the first amendment.

Worse yet, ruling against the Stolen Valor Act is another slap in the face of our brave troops — the troops who protect the true meaning of the First Amendment.

Out of control justices who want to legislate from the bench have made a mockery of our legal system and insulted our military.

We encourage you to sign this petition to U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice, John Roberts, asking him to take up this appeal immediately and reverse this activist decision in the 9th Circuit.

In January 2011, America will have a new conservative Congress. Between now and the day they take office, we want to collect 1 million signatures demanding that this new Congress repeal the unconstitutional Health Care Reform Act signed by President Obama. We don’t want the conservatives to cave under intense pressure from the media, so let your voice be heard.

Obama and Liberal Democrats in Congress have pushed mandatory, government-run healthcare on Americans forcing us into a system like Canada or Europe. Most Americans will no longer be able to keep the insurance they have. Instead, American citizens are dealing with the reality of impending transfer from private healthcare to a government-run health plan. The vast majority of Americans are not satisfied with the newly passed government-run health care because they know it will reduce the quality and increase the cost. Not to mention, our country cannot afford to go deeper in debt to pay for this new program. Obama will continue to dig a deeper and deeper financial hole in which our children and grandchildren will never be able to climb out. We have elected you to make a stand for the American people against Obama’s healthcare plan. Please listen to the voice of the American people and make the repeal of Obama’s healthcare your highest priority.

Thank you to the wonderful patriots who joined the Fredericksburg Tea Party float in the July 4th Independence Day Parade.

 A special thanks for Jeff Kunz who built the float and Joy Johnson who created the decorations.  Thank you also to Angela & Ron Smith, Allen & Pat Spousta, Kirk & Fay Kinley, Michael & Mary Monahan and Tractor Supply who contributed to our float.

Three items that most impressed me:

1) It was standing room only (literally) when nearly 40 patriots arrived in the hot 1pm sun.  We filled the float, the truck and many had to walk alongside the float.  I thank the many veterans, children and patriots who joined us.

2) We had a blast! Not only did we have the most populated float, we had the most fun, singing patriotic songs, chanting, smiling and flag waving.

3) But, the most amazing thing was the response of the crowd.  The Tea Party received standing ovations from the start of the parade to the finish.  The crowds were cheering and showing support with thumbs up.

The community supports our movement, and that gives me real optimism for the November election. 

Speaking of November, mark you calendars for July 13th, 6pm.  That is our next general meeting, where we will launch our Get Out the Vote program.  We love rallies and floats, but the November election is where the rubber hits the road.  And our Get Out the Vote program, with your help, will break all county voting records!
